Home progress

Use: see known-character progress and database totals.

Play: update known characters in Self Assessment, then watch the Home progress bar and totals for characters, words, and idioms.

Daily Lesson

Use: start the lesson selected for today.

Play: learn 5 characters, listen to pinyin, view meaning and words, practise stroke order or camera writing, then finish the test.

Course lessons

Use: choose any lesson from the 800-character course.

Play: select a lesson, study each character card, use audio and stroke tools, then take the lesson test to save progress.

Self Assessment

Use: record which characters this learner already knows.

Play: tick known characters in a 100-character batch, save to the profile, and use this list to power exams and the home progress bar.

Exam

Use: check understanding with 20 questions from known characters.

Play: answer pinyin, meaning, and stroke-count questions. Results are saved, and missed characters are sent to Wrong words.

Wrong words

Use: review characters missed in exams.

Play: read each mistake card, check pinyin and meaning, then start another exam when ready.

Daily dialogue

Use: practise useful spoken Chinese by topic.

Play: choose a topic, tap the sentence to hear it, use Read all, and tap word cards for vocabulary practice.

Role play

Use: practise reading short real-life scenes aloud.

Play: choose a scene, listen to the full line, repeat it aloud, and review the scene vocabulary below.

Add character

Use: add a custom character that is not already in the course.

Play: enter the character, pinyin, Chinese and English meanings, plus 3 example words. Saved custom characters appear in Course lessons.

Search

Use: look up characters or words in the course database.

Play: type Chinese, open a result, listen to pronunciation, inspect meanings, words, dictionary details, and jump into its lesson.

Idiom series

Use: learn 200 common Chinese idioms.

Play: browse or search an idiom, read its meaning, example sentence, and source, then practise using it in speech or writing.

UI language

Use: change the app display language.

Play: choose Chinese, English, bilingual, Japanese, or Korean. The setting is saved in the learner profile.

Sign out

Use: leave the current learner profile and return to the ID login page.

Play: tap Sign out at the bottom of Home, confirm, then another learner can log in with their ID and 4-digit password.

Camera writing

In a lesson, tap Camera. The app follows your fingertip so you can write the character inside the box.
